Sunny16 serves as an effective exposure calculator that adheres to the principles of the Sunny 16 exposure rule while offering additional functionalities. This application is particularly well-suited for photographers utilizing either film or digital cameras equipped with a manual (M) mode. It provides a straightforward tool to assist in achieving optimal exposure settings and aids in comprehending the relationships among the various elements that contribute to a well-exposed photograph.

The Sunny 16 rule operates on a simple premise: under sunny conditions, one should set the aperture to f/16 and adjust the shutter speed to match the reciprocal of the film speed. For instance, if the film speed (ISO) is set to 200, the appropriate shutter speed would be 1/200 with an aperture of f/16. However, considerations arise when altering shooting conditions, such as when using different apertures like f/8 or when shooting under varying levels of daylight. The Sunny16 app addresses these complexities with ease, allowing users to explore various settings with just a touch.
